Does a Vatican Dicastery doubts that FSSPX Marriage faculties have been revoked? The Vatican’s Dicastery for Legislative Texts issued a clarification on August 7, concerning marriages within the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX), according to Guy Lapierre writing on RenaissanceCatholique.fr on October 15. Lapierre writes about a response from the Dicastery for Legislative Texts without naming the addressee or context. The texts states: “The Explanatory Note published on July 2, 2026, by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith states that marriages witnessed by sacred ministers of the Priestly Society of St. Pius X are invalid. However, it does not appear from the published text that such a declaration was approved by the Roman Pontiff with the intention of revoking or derogating from the provisions contained in the Letter of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei of March 27, 2017.” The mentioned letter of 2017 refers to Franics’ permissions for marriages celebrated by FSSPX …Zwiṅwe

Gänswein avoids answering question about the traditional Latin Mass. During an October 17 interview on Twitch.tv, Archbishop Georg Gänswein was asked whether the more liberal German Church could learn from growing interest in Catholicism among young people in France and the US. The interviewer specifically mentioned the “Mass according to old rites” as a possible reason for success there. Gänswein did not directly address the old Mass. Instead, he said young people are “searching for answers” and finding “nourishment” in the Gospel and the Church’s message. He stressed that faith is not merely “something I have intellectually in my head.” What matters, he said, is a relationship with “the person who is essential to Christianity, namely Jesus Christ.”
Frage an Gänswein: Bewegt die jüngere Generation so etwas wie die Messe in alten Riten? Wäre das – nach dem Vorbild von Frankreich und den USA – ein Erfolgsmodell für Deutschland?
We have a prime minister here in the CZ named Babiś who never ever answered any question, but always considered a question just a occasion to say something he wants to say.
Rubio on West Bank settler violence: 'Not a good look' Secretary of State Marco Rubio has addressed the attack on an American photojournalist in the West Bank, calling the images disturbing while defending the administration's earlier decision to lift sanctions on Israeli settlers. "There was video of that. The whole thing was just disturbing. Not a good look." Earlier, the US has refused to demand an investigation into the deaths of 9 of its own citizens, and it lifted the very sanctions that were meant to restrain the groups involved. geopolitics_prime

Single women are often the ones who once loved the hardest. They gave everything they had—their time, tenderness, energy, emotions, and trust. Sometimes they gave all of that to someone who never truly appreciated it, someone who accepted everything they offered and eventually left them with an emptiness they had to learn how to fill on their own. Maybe that is why some of them choose to be single now. Not because they are incapable of love. Quite the opposite. They simply learned that love without respect can come at an incredibly high price. Difficult experiences gave them something they may not have had before: peace, stronger boundaries, a clearer sense of their own worth, and the courage to stop accepting relationships that require them to settle for less than they deserve. Now they can take a weekend trip to the coast, sit alone with coffee in a little café, go to a concert, see a movie, spend a day hiking, or enjoy a quiet evening at home without feeling that something is missing …Zwiṅwe
Seat of Wisdom has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

US Bishop prohibits celebration facing the Lord (ad orientem). On October 2, Bishop Jeffrey Walsh, 60, of Gaylord, Michigan, issued a decree restricting the celebration of the Mass towards the Lord. It takes effect on October 15. Under the new rules, all Sunday and holy day Masses must be read - like a talk or show - facing the people. On weekdays, no more than two Masses per parish may be celebrated ad orientem, and only after consultation with the parish council and appropriate catechesis. Weddings, funerals, and other Masses with congregations must also be celebrated facing the people. Masses according to the 1962 Missal are exempt. The bishop invokes paragraph 299 of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), claiming it favors celebration versus populum. However, the text of GIRM 299 does NOT require Mass to be celebrated facing the people. It recommends a freestanding altar that can be walked around to incense it with a thurible and permits celebration versus populum. It …Zwiṅwe
Notice this is being said by a Bishop who appears to be preparing to offer Mass in a gymnasium. You can see the cruets, chalice, paten, etc. on a little table behind him. Of course he cares nothing for a Mass offered to God (i.e. ad orientem) with due sacrality and wants to suppress it since it is a reproach to his own humanistic viewpoint.

The world cannot just stand by and wait.” And the NY Times reported: "Russia's attack on the South Bridge in Kiev happened as a metro train was crossing over it. No one was injured..." US State Department stateman George Kennan, who was fluent in German and Russian, “who knew Russia best,” testified against Bill Clinton’s proposed NATO expansion into Eastern Europe, stating it would be “the most fateful error of U.S. foreign policy in the post-Cold War era.”

Only 45% of US Bishops Say Homosexuality Disqualifies from Priesthood The University of Notre Dame's McGrath Institute for Church Life has published on July 17 a report containing twelve proposals for assessing candidates for the priesthood. Entitled, "Do You Know Them to Be Worthy?", the file was written by Father Thomas V. Berg and psychologist Timothy G. Lock. The report draws on research commissioned from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and a consultation held at Notre Dame in September 2025. The proposals concern psychological assessment, candidates with particular psychological or developmental conditions, and formation for chastity and celibacy. It addresses candidates with conditions including ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and autism spectrum disorder. On homosexual attraction, the Notre Dame authors note that a pause in formation may "more often than not" lead to a decision not to advance a candidate toward ordination. The authors think the pause …Zwiṅwe
