St Peter’s Basilica and cathedrals will be abused as event venues to mark a United Nations observance.
On 21 September, the UN International Day of Peace, St Peter's Basilica ’s will play Sounds of Loss, an international audio installation by German filmmaker Philip Gröning.
For 49 hours, 1,096 prerecorded clicks and taps will sound at irregular intervals, each intended to represent a person killed in war.
Gröning and his team recorded more than 24,000 sounds - from clocks, light switches, locks, pencils and other everyday objects. The installation is designed to span 21 September across all world time zones.
At the Vatican, the installation is located in the atrium of St Peter’s Basilica.
Other venues include the Berliner Dom and Zionskirche in Berlin, St John the Divine in New York, Verona Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne and the National Museum of Singapore.

Leo XIV has opened the way towards the beatification of Luigi Di Liegro (1928–1997), a Roman priest who wanted to be close to people dying of AIDS. The pope made the announcement on Friday during the diocesan assembly in the Basilica of St John Lateran.
He said he had “gladly approved” the steps necessary to begin the diocesan investigation into Di Liegro’s life, virtues and reputation for holiness.

I actually wasn’t sure where to start or how to approach this essay. My notes and list of problematic quotes taken from the document alone ran to almost 16 pages.
In what could only be called an astonishing feat, the Vatican’s note A Journey of Hope, subtitled Sixty Years of Interreligious Dialogue and Fraternity in the Light of the Conciliar Declaration Nostra Aetate, manages, in almost every single one of its 60 paragraphs, to disqualify itself from being the work of the Catholic Church.
Sixty years after this reprehensibly heretical document was foisted upon Christendom, the Vatican has now, unwittingly, provided us with an unusually candid description of exactly why Nostra Aetate, and the beast that spawned it, is not Catholic in any way, shape, or form.

What Bill Whatcott did was not a "hate" crime
In a recent court decision, Christian activist Bill Whatcott was found guilty of promoting hatred against gay men. His crime? He distributed flyers about the moral and health dangers of homosexual acts at the Toronto Pride Parade in 2016. Doesn't justice delayed, just denied, apply in this case?
Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy concluded that Whatcott's actions were an intentional act to try and vilify gay men. This makes him guilty of spreading "hate" under the guise of religious beliefs. Can Canadians freely express Christian beliefs in public? Can those beliefs be taught in Christian schools? Looks like Molloy was able to read Whatcott's mind. How else did she arrive at her decision?
