Catholics Detained During Nuit Blanche Protests: On 6 June, six Catholics were taken into police custody for around 24 hours during protests against blasphemous events in Parisian churches as part of the Nuit Blanche festival. At the Transubstantiation, the opposite happens: the substance of bread becomes the Body of Christ. Read in a literal sense, the phrase “becomes bread” is at least ambiguous. Such language can only be understood in some poetic sense.
