“Fornicator I always was; heretic I never was”, the last words of St. Andrew Wouters, a priest who was a known womanizer, that had fathered many children, but was martyred by Calvinists for refusing to renounce the Catholic faith, on this day in 1572.

Mozart at a monastery on a Greek island, a striking setting despite the blustering wind audible in the video. With the monks of Toplou monastery in Crete in attendance among the capacity audience, Greek soprano Christina Poulitsi and Placido Domingo charmed with their duet from "Don Giovanni" on a summer night three years ago today.

Hosea 14:2-10
“Return to the Lord.”
Let us return to peace; the Lord is here.
Matthew 10:16-23
“It will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
To make God’s love known is to sow the seeds of God’s presence, his joy, in people’s hearts.

Leo XIV Inherited a Crisis - and Makes It Worse

In a July 6 InfoVaticana.com opinion piece ("Tribune"), Pedro Gómez Carrizo argues that decades of doctrinal and disciplinary drift have hollowed out the Church's authority.
He writes that Leo XIV demands obedience from the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X. after years of treating other disputes as negotiable, contextual, or exempt.
Leo XIV' Priorities Exposed
Rome has tolerated what Carrizo considers far more serious ruptures than the episcopal consecration of the FSSPX:
- Germany's Synodal Way, which has drifted toward schism without consequence.
- Episcopal appointments negotiated with China's Communist Party.
- Blessings of homosexual couples.
- Liturgical experimentation.
- Synodality, which has repackaged old heresies as "innovation".
The willingness to make exceptions in many controversial areas while drawing an absolute line at Écône, Carrizo contends, exposes the pope’s priorities rather than his strength.

Cardinal Bagnasco: Why Not Summorum Pontificum?

"There are many rites in the Catholic Church; in Milan, for example, there is the Ambrosian Rite," Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco told AdVaticanum.com on July 8.
He added: "The document of Benedict XVI, Summorum Pontificum, does not create a new liturgical rite, but recognises, within the one Roman Rite, an ordinary form and an extraordinary form."
For the Cardinal, the issue is not the unity of the faith but rather "legitimate personal sensibilities": "If, in this area, differences do not become absolutes, banners, or parties, then why not?"

" The document of Benedict XVI, Summorum Pontificum, does not create a new liturgical rite..."
---
No, it was Montini with Bugnini who created it. Ratzinger just tried to save it by imposing a legal fiction of two forms of the same rite for ontologically and historically different rites.

"An Entire Village Celebrates a New Priest in Lebanon"

Watch this inspiring video as "An Entire Village Celebrates a New Priest in Lebanon." It's a story that will warm your heart and soul. From the description pasted on You Tube we read: From the ancient Maronite village of Deir El Ahmar in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, we witnessed one of the most beautiful moments in the life of the Church: the ordination of a new priest. This is the story of an entire community gathered around one vocation as Deacon Johnny Kozah is ordained to the priesthood, becoming Father Johnny Kozah. From the joyful procession through the village to the sacred Divine Liturgy, and finally Father Johnny’s First Divine Liturgy and celebration, this documentary offers a glimpse into a tradition where faith is truly lived. In Deir El Ahmar, we were reminded that the Church is not built of stones, but of people gathered in Christ. Through monks, nuns, priests, seminarians, and laypeople, Christ’s mission continues to flourish from one generation to the next. We hope this film …
